Use of the plagiarism detection software Turnitin Similarity at ETH Zurich
The ETH Library licences plagiarism detection software and offers a comprehensive range of services for plagiarism prevention.
Turnitin Similarity is a plagiarism detection software that recognises similarities in texts, including paraphrasing, citations and references. The web-based software accesses an extensive database of published and unpublished academic papers, books, journals and other sources to compare texts.
Access to the software is limited to professors and lecturers only. The account is created by the ETH Library and can be requested via the Plagiarism check website. There you will find further information on the use of the software and contact details.
According to the decision of the ETH Executive Board, access is only granted to those persons who have the attributes ‘Professor’ or ‘Lecturer’ in the ETH Zurich people search. At the same time, the ETH Executive Board is of the opinion that students' work should not be systematically checked for plagiarism using the software.
