Preventing plagiarism – citing correctly: also in times of AI

Citation is an essential part of scientific writing. To prevent plagiarism, it is important to know how to cite correctly. What needs to be considered, when using AI-based tools?What exactly is considered as plagiarism and what do you have to pay attention to when citing? In this course you will also receive information about which citation styles exist and learn the basics of citing correctly including direct quoting and paraphrasing.

  • When using AI-based tools, what should you pay attention to considering prevention of plagiarism?
  • Which forms of plagiarism exist and how can you avoid them?
  • What is the purpose of citations and paraphrases? What are the risks when quoting and how can they be avoided?
  • How are citations and the bibliography connected?
