Archiving and digitising

The ETH Library offers archiving services in various areas. Our archives preserve documents and image material from ETH Zurich, as well as private archives of lasting value, and make them available for research purposes. In digital long-term preservation, we focus on ensuring long-term access to research data, doctoral theses, software code and other digital content.

Digitisation is another important part of the ETH Library’s strategy. Thanks to the work of the DigiCenter, students and researchers have direct access to digitised resources. Digitisation also helps preserve cultural heritage.

To this end, the ETH Library is active in the field of open data and offers direct access to library resources, such as through an API.
