Archiving
Preserving knowledge and making it available to science and all interested parties: In the ETH Zurich University Archives, you can research the history of ETH Zurich and comprehensive subject matter relating to the history of technology, social sciences and natural sciences. With the Thomas Mann Archives and the Max Frisch Archive, the ETH Library also owns the personal papers of two important writers. The ETH Library’s Image Archive collects extensive image material relating to various topics from science and research.
To ensure that you can access the steadily growing volume of digital archival holdings on a sustained basis and over an extended period of time, our digital long-term preservation guarantees their safe storage and usability. In addition to archival materials in the narrower sense, digital long-term preservation includes a wide range of other digital objects, such as doctoral theses, master files from digitisation projects, software code and research data.
