Books
- Printed books can be ordered online from external page ETH Library @ swisscovery.
- Open access resources can be found in the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library, the Earth Sciences Library, the GESS Library and in the Green Library.
- Documents published after 1900 can be borrowed for the most part or, if this is not possible, you can view them in the Reading Room Collections and Archives.
Books published before 1900
- With a few exceptions, the holdings of the Rare Books Collection can be ordered online on ETH Library @ swisscovery.
- In the Reading Room Collections and Archives, you can view these books but not borrow them.
- Documents that you order are ready for you to view in the Collections and Archives Reading Room within three to 24 hours and remain available for seven working days.
- If a book cannot be ordered online, you can request to view it using the following form: Download Application for the use of special holdings of the Rare Books Collection (PDF, 71 KB) (German only). These books can only be used with prior registration.
- On the external page e-rara platform, you can find digitised content from numerous old printed documents.

Dictionaries and guides on studying and starting a career
A selection of dictionaries and guides on the subject of studying and starting a career can be taken directly from the shelf and borrowed at the InfoCenter of the ETH Library.

Language courses

- Various levels of difficulty (such as for exam preparation)
- Mostly supplemented by multimedia in the form of CDs, CD-ROMs or video
- Self-Access Centre Hönggerberg: various printed and audiovisual media for learning languages on your own
