Information on the Corona regulations of the ETH Library from 3 January 2022

Due to the closure of the ETH Zurich buildings, access to individual ETH Library locations is only possible for ETH members.

As of 3 January 2022, only ETH members will have access to individual locations (with ETH card and access authorization for the building). The Architecture and Civil Engineering Library (HIL) and the InfoCenter (HG) will be open to external visitors.

Please note that as of 20 December 2021, in accordance with the external page Federal Council decision of 17 December 2021, a 2G COVID-19 certificate and a mask obligation applies at all ETH Library locations in order to be able to use the services listed below and to visit events and exhibitions.  

Good to know: You can pick up ordered media without a certificate (Click & Collect), provided you comply with the applicable protective measures.  

Locations and access

External visitors are requested to select the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library or the InfoCenter as pick-up locations when ordering their media.  

Services

  • Regular opening hours apply to all locations. Only the Hönggerberg Depot Library is closed.
  • At all locations short searches and consultations can also take place in compliance with distance and hygiene regulations.
  • Reading lounges with national and international (specialist) journals and daily newspapers are available.
  • Photocopiers and scanners can be used in compliance with the distancing rules.

Events

Events are partly taking place on location. A 2G certificate requirement applies. Please read the notes and details about upcoming events in the events calendar.

Face masks mandatory

Face masks must be worn in all ETH buildings. This also applies to the study spaces. The social distancing and hygiene measures of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) remain in place. Please bear this in mind when visiting the ETH Library.
