Knowledge for research in just 15 minutes – Coffee Lectures in May and June

Find media, understand licences and use historical images: expand your knowledge with the ETH Library's Coffee Lectures in just 15 minutes – easy and online via Zoom.

The new Coffee Lectures programme offers you compact insights into useful research tools and current issues relating to academic publishing. In just 15 minutes, you will learn the difference between the Nexis Uni and Factiva press databases, find out how to use Creative Commons licences correctly, locate specific historical images in E-Pics and analyse research trends with OpenAlex.

The programme for May and June 2025 in a nutshell 

How it works 

Each session lasts 15 minutes. You will receive concise, condensed information on a particular topic and have time to ask questions at the end. Just the right length of time to enjoy a coffee while you listen and get to know the people behind the ETH Library.  

The online events are held external page via Zoom at 3.15 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons from 28 May to 18 June 2025. We usually host the events in English. 

You can take part without registering. For browser-​based Zoom sessions, we recommend using Chrome. 

If you miss an event, you can still access it. We record the sessions and provide access to the presentation slides on our website.
