Keeping up the pace – It Takes a Library
Yurena Seguí Femenias wants to stay up to date with scientific developments even after her doctorate at ETH Zurich. Together with David Johann from the ETH Library, she has found a solution.
"Concrete is all around us", says Yurena in her office. Even here, as if to prove her point, she is surrounded by walls of concrete. "In reinforced concrete, the part that actually corrodes is the steel."
In her PhD, she developed a sensor system that measures the corrosion process. This system formed the basis of her start-up company, DuraMon AG. While she invests a lot of time and energy in her company, she also wants to keep abreast of the latest scientific developments. Keeping up with the growing volume of literature and information is a challenge. That is why she meets with David Johann, Head of Knowledge Management at the ETH Library. In the first video in the "It Takes a Library" series, they both try to find ways for Yurena to stay up to date:
With the help of the ETH Library, entrepreneur and researcher Yurena has found the optimal tool to keep up with current research.
