ChatGPT and AI – where do we go from here? The future of scientific writing
Will AI tools like ChatGPT fundamentally change the way we approach scientific texts? We will be discussing this question at the ETH Library’s 17:15 Colloquium on 20 April 2023.
Professor Noah Bubenhofer is a professor of German Linguistics at the University of Zurich. In his presentation, he will discuss the future of scientific writing from a media history and linguistic perspective.
Bubenhofer will address the question of whether or not tools like ChatGPT or Bard are simply the latest in an unbroken line of writing aids like Tipp-Ex or spellcheckers. Or will it force us to take an entirely new approach to texts and exams at schools and universities?
The 17:15 Colloquium by the ETH Library offers a platform for further education and discussion of topics related to libraries, museums and archives. The formula: a 30-minute lecture + a 30-minute discussion = inspiration for our daily working lives.
