swisscovery is replacing the ETH Library Search Portal. Read on to find out more about the change and why you need to register.

What is swisscovery?

Starting on 7 December 2020, as an ETH Library user, you will now have access to the entire catalogue of scientific materials in Switzerland via a single research portal called swisscovery. swisscovery will be replacing the ETH Library Search Portal and NEBIS recherche.

swisscovery lists more than 30 million books, series, journals and non-book materials as well as more than three billion electronic articles. Ordering media from outside the existing Network of Libraries and Information Centers in Switzerland (NEBIS) will also be easier from 7 December.

swisscovery is operated by the Swiss Library Service Platform, or SLSP. SLSP was founded by 15 universities. Today, a total of 475 libraries across Switzerland have joined.
