The data is collected as part of the ETH Library customer survey 2024 to evaluate customer satisfaction with the library and its services (including usage and importance) and to identify potential for optimisation and further development of the services.
Email addresses
The survey is conducted in a personalised way. This means that the ETH Library passes on the email addresses of its customers (without any additional personal information) to FORS. FORS uses the email addresses to send invitations, reminders and to answer questions of the survey participants.
At the end of the survey, participants can take part in a voucher prize draw and/or request the survey results. By doing so, participants agree that FORS is allowed to use their assigned email address:
- to contact them in the context of the voucher prize draw (please see point 2 “Voucher prize draw – conditions of participation”).
- to send them results of the survey.
Participants may revoke this consent at any time via email to .
b. Where is the data stored?
The data is stored on the servers of Qualtrics, the online survey tool used by FORS. The data is stored in Germany. According to its own statement, external page Qualtrics complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), i.e. with the same standards as apply in Switzerland (for additional information, please see especially the external page Privacy Statement).

d. How is the data analysed?
The analysis of the collected data is carried out in an aggregated and anonymised form, so that the answers cannot be traced back to any individual survey participant.

e. How long is the data stored?
Once the survey has been carried out and evaluated, the data will be deleted from the servers of Qualtrics and FORS.
