The ETH Library publishes its new strategy for 2025–2028
Every four years, the ETH Library revises its strategy in line with the planning processes of ETH Zurich and the Vice Presidency for Infrastructure and Sustainability (VPIN).

In 2019, the ETH Library conducted a comprehensive strategy process that set the course for the next ten years. The action areas defined at that time were designed to last four years and have been largely achieved. The library management therefore decided in 2024 to update and supplement the current strategy by developing new priorities and action areas.
Broad participation within the ETH Library
The revised process for developing the strategic priorities for 2025–2028 actively incorporated feedback and criticism from the previous process. The process followed a three-stage approach and included a combination of top-down impulses and bottom-up elements, strengthening both the feasibility and identification with the strategic priorities and corresponding fields of action that were developed.
Focus on future topics
With its new strategy, the ETH Library is strengthening its role as a key partner for research and teaching at ETH Zurich. With its five strategic priorities, such as ‘further advancing digital transformation with AI and open science’, the ETH Library is gearing itself to meet the demands of the future.
