New head for the Thomas Mann Archives

The current head of the Max Frisch Archive, Dr Tobias Amslinger, is taking over the management of both Literary Archives at ETH Zurich on 1 February 2022.

Tobias Amslinger

Under a single head, the Thomas Mann Archives and the Max Frisch Archive will be more closely integrated, both organisationally and in terms of personnel. There is no change in the identity and public image of the two archives, which are known and established as independent institutions with their respective holdings and resources.

The ETH Library is making targeted investments in digital projects, editions and research collaborations as part of the reorganisation. This will ensure that the two Literary Archives can continue to expand their range of modern services and remain important centres of excellence for future research on both Thomas Mann and Max Frisch.
