The specialist journal Wasser Energie Luft has been published since 1908. It focuses on the water industry, providing readers with a combination of expert articles and news on the latest projects and topical issues. Wasser Energie Luft is the only Swiss journal dedicated to the water industry.

The bulletin is produced by the Association of Swiss Electricity Providers (VSE), and has been published since 1910. It focuses on electrical engineering, information technology and the energy sector, as well as the electricity industry. It is published jointly by VSE’s member associations and Electrosuisse, the professional association for electrical engineering and the energy sector in Switzerland, and functions as Electrosuisse’s in-house journal.

The Verband Schweizerischer Vereine für Pilzkunde (Association of Swiss Mushroom Clubs), known by the acronym VSVP, was founded in 1919. It serves as the umbrella body for mushroom enthusiasts in Switzerland, bringing together around 5,000 members. The Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Pilzkunde was first published in 1923. Each issue includes a range of scientific papers and more accessible articles for readers with an interest in mushrooms and fungi, as well as reporting on the activities and initiatives of its member clubs.

Dissonance was published by the Schweizerischer Tonkünstlerverein (Association of Swiss Musicians) between 1984 and 2018. It documented the latest developments on the Swiss music scene via a combination of scientific studies, essays, analytical articles and reviews.

Physioactive is the official journal of Physioswiss, the Swiss Association of Physiotherapists. The Association acts as a traditional professional association, representing the interests of around 10,000 members.

Obstetrica is Switzerland’s only journal specifically aimed at midwives. It is both a specialist journal and a tool for helping the Schweizerischer Hebammenverband (Swiss Association of Midwives) to keep in touch with its members. It provides insight into the latest issues affecting the midwifery profession, as well as keeping its readers informed of scientific developments and research activity.

The Schweizer Frauen-Zeitung was published weekly from 1879 to 1912 by its editor, Elise Honegger. Honegger’s newspaper included general articles on women’s domestic duties, as well as reports on issues affecting the women’s movement in Switzerland and abroad. The Schweizer Frauen-Zeitung can justifiably claim to be Switzerland’s first commercially successful women’s magazine.

The Swiss Association for the Hearing Impaired, known as Sonos, was founded by Eugen Sutermeister in 1911 under the name Schweizerische Fürsorgeverein für Taubstumme (Swiss Benevolent Association for the Deaf and Dumb). The organisation immediately assumed responsibility for publishing the Schweizerische Taubstummenzeitung (The Swiss Newspaper for the Deaf and Dumb), which Sutermeister had set up in 1907. The association was officially renamed Sonos – Schweizerischer Verband für Gehörlosen- und Hörgeschädigten-Organisationen (Swiss Association of Organisations for the Deaf and Hearing-Impaired) in 2002.

The Schweizerischer Gehörlosenbund, or Swiss Association for the Deaf, known by the acronym SGB, was originally set up 1946 as part of the Schweizerischer Verband für Taubstummenhilfe (Swiss Association for Assisting the Deaf and Dumb). The SGB was reorganised along regional lines in 1987, when it began publishing its journal, SGB-Nachrichten (SGB News). In 2006, the three regional organisations were merged to create the national association now known as SGB-FSS.

The cantonal archives of Graubünden (Staatsarchiv Graubünden) have been publishing the journal Quellen und Forschungen zur Bündner Geschichte since 1986. The academic journal presents a range of articles on the history of Graubünden. As well as publishing a variety essays and papers, the journal’s back catalogue also serves as a critical edition covering little-known sources from the mediaeval, early-modern and modern periods.

The Swiss Historicist Network aims to research and promote Switzerland’s rich historicist cultural heritage (with a particular focus on architecture, interiors and the decorative arts), and to bring it to international attention. The results of its work are published in the Network’s in-house journal in the form of academic essays. The core of the Network is made up of a group of experts from universities, museums and heritage preservation bodies.

The Lenzburger Neujahrsblätter (Lenzburg Annuals) serve as the yearbook for the town of Lenzburg and the surrounding area. The publication was conceived in 1930 by the Lenzburg Vereinigung für Natur und Heimat (Association for Nature and Homeland). The annuals record the most significant events of each individual year, covering fields ranging from history and geography to economics and politics, as well as documenting daily life and culture in Lenzburg and its surroundings.

The Swiss Review first appeared in 1974. Its 13 regional editions are published in French, German, English and Spanish by SwissCommuinity, an organisation dedicated to Swiss expatriates. Some of the magazines and journals aimed at ex-pats prior to 1974 were integrated into Swiss Review, while others are still published as regional editions.

Helvetia has been published by the Swiss Society of New Zealand since 1935. It keeps the Society’s members informed of news and issues affecting Switzerland, as well as providing information on the past and present activities of the Swiss Regional Club in New Zealand.

The Schweizer Bulletin (Swiss Bulletin) was intended to provide information to Swiss citizens living in the Principality of Liechtenstein. It was published quarterly by the board of the Schweizer-Verein (Swiss Association) in Liechtenstein, until it was replaced by the Swiss Review in 1992 and the Swiss Association in the Principality of Liechtenstein started publishing its notices as regional news items in Swiss Review.

Since it was founded in 1984, the IT Students’ Association of ETH Zurich (known as VIS) has been publishing Visionen as its official magazine. The publication is produced by students on a voluntary basis, and aims to be much more than an association magazine.
