Open access – Don’t miss the deadline for funding applications
Open access funding: the deadline for funding applications for articles in subscription journals is 14 December 2021.
Do you want to publish your research findings and make them available open access? Do you need financial support for this purpose? As of February 2021, the ETH Library covers the open access fees for all articles by ETH Zurich faculty, staff and students. In this way, the ETH Library promotes transparency and digital access in connection with scientific publications.
Sharing knowledge, reducing costs
However, due to cost-cutting measures at ETH Zurich, funding will be restricted to articles in purely open-access journals starting in mid-December 2021.
Deadline for funding applications
You must submit applications for funding for your open-access articles in subscription journals by no later than 14 December 2021. Otherwise, the ETH Library cannot cover the costs. If your article has already been approved, we must also have received your invoices and rebooking requests by this date.
Read and Publish
The option of publishing your articles via one of the existing Read and Publish or Gold Open Access agreements remains unchanged.
We hope that this restriction can be at least partially mitigated by new Read and Publish agreements in 2022.
