Role of university libraries in safeguarding professional scientific ethics
The topic of the 17:15 Colloquium on 29 April 2021 is the rules for ensuring good scientific practice reloaded and the role of libraries in upholding scientific professional ethics.

In July 2019, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG) published the new code "Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice". The code refers to changes in the scientific re-search and publication process resulting from digital transition and to new structures and forms of cooperation in science. A mandatory culture of scientific integrity is to be expedited based on the professional ethics of scientists.
In her talk, Nicole Walger, Director UB Duisburg-Essen, will highlight the role university libraries can play in striving for truth and objectivity or in upholding scientific professional ethics.
The 17:15 Colloquium offers a platform for further education and discussion of topics related to libraries, museums and archives. The formula: a 30-minute lecture + a 30-minute discussion + small-group discussion = inspiration for our daily working lives.
