New R&P contracts 2021: Publishing in open-access journals for ETH members
Get information on the new Read and Publish agreements with Cambridge University Press, Karger, Sage, Taylor & Francis and Trans Tech Publications.
From 1 January 2021, researchers at ETH Zurich will be able to publish open-access articles in journals published by Cambridge University Press, Karger, Sage, Taylor & Francis and Trans Tech Publications without having to pay any fees. The associated costs are covered by the new read & publish agreements. These agreements require that you as the corresponding author of the submitted article are employed at ETH Zurich.
Cambridge University Press
Members of ETH Zurich can publish in external page all journals published by Cambridge University Press, including gold-open-access journals. This applies to all articles with a publication date in 2021. Read access is now also available for external page all journals published by Cambridge University Press since 1997.
Karger
Members of ETH Zurich can now also publish open access in external page all journals published by Karger. This is valid for all articles submitted in 2021. Read access is now also available for the external page entire Karger publication portfolio from 1998 onwards.
Sage
The agreement allows members of ETH Zurich to publish in external page all hybrid journals published by Sage. This agreement applies to all articles with an acceptance date in 2021. Read access external page remains the same.
Taylor & Francis
Members of ETH Zurich can publish in most hybrid and gold-open-access journals from Taylor & Francis. This applies to all articles with an acceptance date in 2021. Read access for the external page existing collections remains the same.
Trans Tech Publications
In addition to unlimited access to the external page entire journal portfolio published by Trans Tech Publications, members of ETH Zurich can now publish in external page all journals of the same publisher free of charge. This applies to all articles with a submission date in 2021.

In a combined contract model, the agreements bring together electronic access to all journals with the option of open-access publishing. For ETH Zurich, these agreements represent another important step in the implementation of the open-access policy and the external page national open-access strategy. All researchers are now offered the very best opportunity to make sure their scientific findings are read by as many people as possible around the globe.
