Information on the opening hours and services of the ETH Library from 18 January 2021
The ETH Library in the main building remains open, all other locations are closed. Our digital offers and services are available to you as usual.
Locations and opening hours
Due to the extensive closure of the ETH buildings, only the InfoCenter and the Circulation Desk in the ETH main building will be open as of Monday, 18 January 2021:
ETH Library in the main building (InfoCenter): Mon–Fri 9.00–18.00, Sat and Sun closed
All other locations are closed.
Further information
- In the main building it is possible to borrow and return documents from all locations. Short searches and consultations can also take place own devices in compliance with distance and hygiene regulations.
Please note: Books that have already ready for collection in our special libraries (Architecture and Civil Engineering Library, Earth Sciences Library, GESS Library, Green Library and Hönggerberg Depot Library) can be collected from the circulation desk of the ETH Library in the main building as of Wednesday, 20 January 2021. - We offer a free postal service for ETH staff.
- Reading lounges with national and international (specialist) journals and daily newspapers are not available.
- Photocopiers and scanners can be used by ETH staff in compliance with the distancing rules.
- Please note that delivery times may be delayed as we work with the minimum staff on site to protect our employees.
Collections, archives and exhibitions
The Collections and Archives Reading Room, the Thomas Mann Archive and the Max Frisch Archive are closed for on-site research. Museums are also closed and exhibitions are not taking place.
Events
Events only take place virtually. Please read the notes and details about upcoming events in the events calendar. Tours cannot take place from November 2 on until further notice.
Face masks mandatory
Face masks must be worn in all ETH buildings. The social distancing and hygiene measures of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) remain in place. Please bear this in mind when visiting the ETH Library.
You can also continue to make use of our digital resources and contact options. Please do not visit the library if you belong to an at-risk group or are feeling unwell.
