Start your Wednesdays off with the «Architekturführer» and the Image Archive

Those with an interest in architecture will enjoy our new series in the Crowdsourcing blog.

Are you interested in Zurich’s architecture and also enjoy historic images? Available in shops since June 2020, the new “Architekturführer Zürich” features 62 buildings among others that are presented using images from the Image Archive. We have taken this occasion to launch a new series: each week, we will present a randomly selected building from the guidebook, together with the published image and accompanying text, on the Crowdsourcing blog. But that’s not all: whenever possible, we will also present additional images of the building from our holdings. (Most blog posts are German only.)

The first blog post in the series was published last week and presents the machine laboratory and district-heating plant at ETH Zurich, illustrated with images and footage recorded in the early twentieth century.

The series has been co-produced with Werner Huber and Edition Hochparterre. A big thank you to the authors of the “Architekturführer Zürich” for making their texts available to us.
