Kaleidoscope 2019 ETH Library
With the 2019 Kaleidoscope, we are presenting the successor format to the annual report of the ETH Library. It gives an insight into the topics that particularly concerned us in the past year.
At the ETH Library, we are working hard to expand our role as an active partner in knowledge production. Therefore, we launched a series of activities to this effect in 2019. We are happy to give you an insight into this approach with the Kaleidoscope 2019.
Based on three main chapters, we show which topics we dealt with in particular in 2019.
- In the first chapter "Managing research data", we give an insight into how we support researchers in various ways for research data management. This happens through courses, workshops or a summer school or also through individual advice and much more.
- The main chapter «Unlocking imagery» is dedicated to our platform E-Pics, which serves as a powerful tool for the structured organization, management and presentation of digital images in public or for defined user groups
- In the third main chapter, “Experiencing the library”, we show how we use diverse activities and events to make research and development at ETH Zurich tangible to the interested public. Furthermore, how we present ETH collections, art treasures and experiences or creative, state-of-the-art knowledge communication and discuss present and future questions of academic publishing.
The overview "Compact 2019" enables a compressed view of many other activities and services of the ETH Library of the past year using a visual timeline.
We hope you enjoy reading it and will be happy to accept praise and criticism.
