And the winner is… Idea contests at ETH Library

As part of an open innovation campaign, ETH Library held four different idea contests between October 2018 and March 2019. We would like to thank all participants for the numerous entries, comments and likes!

The winning ideas are out now and can be viewed at www.library.ethz.ch/ideas.

• The external pageData Challengewas won by two ideas involving interfaces (APIs) with our digital resources and gamifying data.
• The winning ideas in the external pageidea contest on the Research Collection, ETH Zurich’s publication platform, concern the visualisation of research activities and the possibility of providing data in the form of static websites.
• In the external pageStudent Challenge, a total of five ideas which propose gauging the utilisation rate of study stations, expanding the range of study stations by including high desks, and literature evaluation functions were selected.
• In the contest external pagePromotional items with added value, the winning ideas revolved around writing utensils, bags, display cleaners for smartphones, and mouse pads with integrated charging options for mobile devices.

In a next step, we will verify the feasibility of the ideas. The idea submitters are welcome to take part in this phase.
