Zentraldepot Buchs (ZeDeBu)
Aim of the project
- Safeguarding collections, archives and cultural assets appropriately and under optimal climatic conditions
- Appropriate implementation of requirements for special infrastructures of the collections and archives (e.g., quarantine room, “cool” climate zone, etc.)
- Relieving the somewhat difficult situation in terms of storage space at ETH Zurich (Centre and Hönggerberg)
- Central storage of collection and archive holdings in close consultation with the collections and archives of ETH Zurich
Description of the project
Collections and archives will be able to store their holdings or parts of their holdings properly under optimal conditions in the new repository building in Buchs ZH. ETH Zurich will rent around 1,800 m2 of storage space, of which approximately 130 m2 will have a “cool” indoor climate. This space includes a buffer, so that future requirements can also be met at a central location. On the fourth floor, additional space is available for the collections and archives, such as an office, a seminar room and a common room.
